I know it happens every year, but this year it seems even more fitting. Today is San Jacinto Day. On this day in 1836 the Texians (now known as Texans) defeated Santa Anna's Army which brought the end of Mexico's rule over us.
I'm sure that other things were going on to create tension around here, but the main source of conflict was the shifting Mexican government. Coupled with the fact that newest ranking government was throwing out the constitution set forth by the previous. Wow, okay, this just keeps hitting closer and closer to home for me right now.
Over the past week it has been thrown out for open discussion that Texas and Texans should again fight for our independence - independence from the atrocity that has become the federal government. Could we? Should we? Would we dare?
