Are We the Hypocrites?

Your local officials' dirty little secret. Or is it?

While we’ve been busy watching and yelling at Washington, D.C. to stop spending, our local elected officials have been busily deciding how to spend the “stimulus” monies they are going to receive.

It's time to get busy again. If you think Washington is at fault for spending so much money – what about those receiving that money? Is your local community going to receive any funds? Are the projects short term ones, just to fix something up, or are they actually going to create a long-lasting job base in your community? It’s time to ask your local elected officials exactly what they plan to do with YOUR money.

Ask the hard, unpopular, questions. Seek the answers, and if you don't like the answers - then do something about it! Find out how much money is coming directly into your community from Washington. Seek the answers, and if you don't like the answers - then do something about it. Speak out! Let your local elected officials know that you are against the bailouts, against the TARP and against the so-called “stimulus” spending and that you do not want those funds coming into your community! If that means local tea parties and protests during city council meetings, county commissioner meetings then let’s do it.

My local county commissioners didn’t want to allow a Tea Party here. Now I know why. They are receiving millions from the federal government for some of those short-term projects. Now that I have opened my eyes – I intend to do something about it. They will know that I do not approve and I will work to prevent them from being re-elected if they go ahead and accept the funds.

What about schools and college campuses? Are they receiving any stimulus money? Are you an alumnus of one that’s getting some bail out money? Let the board of regents know you disapprove. Withhold sending any more of your hard-earned money to the Alumni Association or any other campus related entity. Use your voice. Stir up the dirt, get the campus conservatives involved and let’s protest.

It's time to turn the tables on them! Stir up the dirt and let's protest – but we must do it now, we cannot wait for the next big national protest, scheduled for July 4th. We must take action NOW. We are no longer a silent majority. We have a voice – use it to right the wrongs that are being nationwide to stop this ridiculous spending!

If you have been protesting and complaining about the ever increasing amount of government spending and don't contact your local officials...well then we know the answer to the very first question.

SILENT NO MORE!!!!
